Here are a few ways to Force a card. Forcing a card is when you appear to have a spectator select a random card. However, the card is not random at all. It is the card that you secretly want the audience member to select. Many card tricks can be performed by forcing a card on someone. The following are some good ways to force a card and 3 simple tricks using the force. Level -Beginner.
1. The Cross Cut Force. The card you want to be forced is placed on the bottom of the deck. Have the spectator cut the deck in half separating both halves on the table. Place the bottom half of the deck on top in the form of a cross.Create misdirection for a few moments by talking about the trick. Pick up the top portion of the cross, showing the bottom card, asking the spectator to look at the card he cut to. This is really the original bottom card (force card), but he will think it was a free selection. 2. The Double Cross Force The cross cut force can be used to force two cards. Place one of the cards you want to force on the bottom of the deck, the other card placed on top. Use the same procedure as listed in the preceding trick. Tell the spectator that the cross marks the two cards to which he cut, and ask him to remove and remember these two cards. They will be the force cards. 3. 10-20 Force Place the card to be forced ninth from the top of the deck. Ask the spectator to name any number between 10 and 20. Add the two digits of the named number, subtract the chosen number and count down to the card in that position. Example: If the chosen number is 15, 1 plus 5 equals 6. 15 minus 6 equals 9. The result will always be 9. 4. Sealed Prediction Write the prediction, "you will pick the Ten of Spades" on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. Place the Ten of Spades in the force position in the deck. Hand the envelope to a spectator to hold. Force the Ten of Spades. Ask the spectator to open the envelope, revealing that you predicted the future. 5. The Whispering Deck. Force a card from the deck, have the spectator look at it, and then lose it back in the deck. Hold the deck up close to your ear and riffle the deck. Name the selected card. 6. Second Sight A card is setup in preparation to be forced. Before the performance, a blindfold is placed over your eyes. It will be easy to force the card, even while blindfolded. Reveal the selected card. |
